Porto Carras, Sithonia, Halkidiki, Macedonia, Greece, May 2013. On the western side of Chalkidiki's Sithonia Peninsula, where the verdant slopes of Mt. Meliton stretch down to mingle with the crystal clear waters of Toroneo Bay, 4500 hectares of the largest organic Greek vineyards lie in amphitheatre-like formation. These vineyards are some of the largest in Europe. Halkidiki is a peninsula in the shape of a hand with 3 fingers (Kassandra, Sithonia, Athos), in the north of Greece. Peninsula is lined with 550 km of white sandy beaches which are backed by rocky forested hills and the clear blue and turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea. Photo by Frits Meyst/Adventure4ever.com
