Pale Umbria, Italy, June 2006. The Sasso di Pale waterfalls and the Santa Maria di Giacobbe Hermittage are a good destination for a daytrip with a great picnic by the falls and a strenuous walk up the the hermitage. Assisi is a good place to stay, when travelling through the beautiful surrounding countryside with its medieval walled villages and cities, olive groves and vineyards.
