Adlerweg, Tirol, Austria, August 2005. A Berg Salamander (mountain salamander) on the trail is a sign of bad weather. we saw 57 in one day, while the increasing rain transformed mountain streams into fastflowing rivers. The Adlerweg (eagles trail) is the new long distance hiking trail in Austria. The Adlerweg connects existing paths throughout Tirol, in the shape of an eagle, Tirol's provincial symbol.
